4. What will it cost to setup my eCommerce solution?
If your winery already has a Web site, we can integrate our eCommerce solution for as little as $2,495. This includes your online inventory and sale management tools, shopping cart and more. A low monthly fee of $39.95 (billed semi-annually) covers access to credit card transaction processing, Web hosting of your online storefront, and support.
5. What do I get for $2,495 when I sign up?
You will get the following:
- Ability to sell wine online (eCommerce)
- Inventory Management Tools
- Sales Reports
- State Law Compliance Helper Tools and much more. We will design, develop and build all of these pages and add them to your site.
6. What do I get for my monthly maintenance fee of $39.95?
Your monthly maintenance fee includes the following:
- Daily maintenance of your eCommerce infrastructure to insure your online wine store is available for your customers 24/7.
- Hosting of your eCommerce solution on our servers.
- Email-based technical support for your eCommerce solution.
7. What is NOT included in the $39.95 monthly fee?
- Web hosting for your main Web site.
- Live technical support
- Merchant account monthly fee
- eCommerce transaction fees
- Merchant account set up fee
- eCommerce setup fees charged by third parties such a payment gateways or banks.
8. What are the payment terms? What do I pay at the time of sign-up?
The total cost for building your eCommerce solution is $2,495. You can pay this full amount by check or credit card at the time of sign-up or choose to pay it in two installments. If you elect to make payment in two installments, the first payment of $999 is due at sign-up and the second payment of $1,496 is due when US Wine Traders completes and deploys your eCommerce solution to your Web site.
In addition, you pay a monthly maintenance fee of $39.95/month ($479.40/annually). This fee is billed semi-annually in two equal payments of $239.70. The first payment is due when US Wine Traders completes and deploys your eCommerce solution to your Web site. Additional maintenance fee payments are due every sixth months at the beginning of the service cycle. If you terminate your service for any reason, maintenance services payments are non-refundable.
To summarize, upon sign-up you will either make a single payment of $2,495, or if you elect to pay in two installments: one payment of $999 at sign-up and a second payment of $1735.40 ($1,496 + $239.40) when US Wine Traders completes and deploys your eCommerce solution to your Web site.
9. Does this mean that you are going to maintain my entire Web site?
The monthly maintenance fee of $39.95 only covers the eCommerce functionality of your Web site that we have provided. It does not cover your entire Web site. However, we offer a variety of services geared to customers who need Web site maintenance.
10. I don’t have a Web site. Can SoftOrigins build Web sites?

12. Is Web hosting included in the price?
Web hosting of the eCommerce portion of your site is included. If you require Web hosting services for your main site, it can be provided by a SoftOrigins preferred vendor at a small additional cost.
13. Do I need to change my existing Web hosting provider to take advantage of this offer?
No. Our solution will work with your existing provider.
14. What credit cards can I accept?
Our eCommerce solution allows you to accept all major credit cards.
15. How will I be notified of purchases that occur?
An e-mail notification will be sent to you advising you of purchases.
16. How is a purchase processed?
A customer places an order with a credit card; via the ecommerce server their age, address, credit card, state regulation and shipping rules are verified; customer and vendor will receive an e-mail notification of the sale.
17. How soon will I get my money when customers buy wine online from my site?
Availability of funds depends on your merchant account agreement. Generally speaking, the merchant accounts process and credit payments to your bank account within 48-72 hours.
18. Does US Wine Traders/SoftOrigins hold my inventory?
No. We do not hold any inventory on your behalf.
19. Where is the inventory kept?
Your inventory is kept at your location.
20. Do you ship the products on my behalf?
No. We do not ship any products. Shipping is responsibility of the winery. We are only transaction coordinators.
21. How long will it take to notify me of a purchase?
You will get an e-mail notification as soon as a sale is complete.
22. How can my inventory list be updated?
You can update your inventory list as often as you would like using simple, online tools.
23. How are the payments processed?
Age, address, state regulations, shipping rules and credit card verification is performed at the time of the purchase. The money will be credited to your business account.
24. Will I get the money directly from the customer or from SoftOrigins?
You get money directly from the customer.
25. What payment options will the customers have?
Credit cards, electronic checks and direct bank debit are the options available.
26. Will payment be verified prior to accepting an order?
Payment verification takes place when the order is processed online. If the credit card is declined or the bank account has insufficient funds to cover the purchase, the order will be declined and the process remains incomplete.
27. Who is responsible for shipping?
The winery is responsible for shipping the order, shipping charges will be charged to the customer at the time of purchase. SoftOrigins is just a transaction processor and is not a wine merchant, distributor or wine seller. SoftOrigins does not represent any winery and provides no guarantees of any sort on our behalf or on behalf of any winery who does business through USWineTraders site. Once the customer order is transmitted to the winery, it is the responsibility of the winery to process the order and ship the merchandise. The winery is also responsible for any and all after sales support and product returns.
28. What shipping options will the customer have?
The customer can choose standard, 2 day and next day air and be charged accordingly.
29. Will customers who are on our Web site have to go to a different Web site to complete their order?
No. The eCommerce site will appear to be part of your own Web site. The customer will click on the Shop link and place their order.
30. Who is responsible for maintaining the functionality of the eCommerce site?
SoftOrigins will maintain the eCommerce application. Each winery is responsible for maintaining the information represented on their eCommerce pages.
31. Who do I contact with questions or to report a problem with the eCommerce site?

32. What reports will I be able to generate via the eCommerce site?
You have access to daily sales reports, cash register reports along with inventory management and shipping management tools.

Yes. There is annual maintenance agreement billed in semi-annual installments. You have a choice of purchasing a variety of maintenance plans that best suit your needs.
34. Will you provide a credit card payment gateway and/or transaction processing as part of our eCommerce solution?
US Wine Traders provides credit card payment gateway and transaction processing through Authorize.Net to all our eCommerce solution customers.
35. Will you provide a merchant account?
US Wine Traders does NOT provide a merchant account as part of your eCommerce solution. Many wineries may already have a valid merchant account that may be used with our eCommerce solution. If your winery does not have an established merchant account, US Wine Traders will recommend a preferred bank that will be able to help you set up a merchant account for your online business.
